All Saints Mentors for Kids Program
Join the All
Saints Mentors for Kids Program and bring a foster child living in
Pasadena or Altadena to church. As All Saints Mentors you can make a
difference in the lives of these children by filling a need that has
been sadly lacking—caring, stable adults who empower them to make
positive life choices. Children in the Program can participate in
any of the church’s programs and activities, but they may choose not
to attend worship services.
In Los Angeles County more than 2,000 youth each year leave foster care without a family of their own or even a lasting connection to a stable, caring adult. Many of these children have grown up in a series of foster homes.
Research
has shown that not having a permanent connection to an adult can
have devastating consequences on teens and on youth who are likely
to become homeless, unemployed or incarcerated after leaving foster
care.
The All Saints Mentors for Kids Program is a joint project of the
Department of Children and Family Services, the All Saints Church
Foster Care Project, and the Children and Families ministries.
